For the year 2016, the National Council of Churches in Korea is going to carry out a campaign to break the impasse which binds the Korean Peninsula as we move from Armistice to Peace Treaty. We call on friends and partners to work with us.
There will be four major parts to the campaign: first, monthly sharing of significant information on the present situation to overseas partner churches and organizations; second, a Peace Treaty workshop to take place in Korea in May (Travel Study Seminar); third, an online signature campaign for moving from Armistice to Treaty during the month of July (which is significant as July 27 is the date on which the Armistice was signed in 1953); and fourth, an NCCK (and hopefully KCF) tour of the U.S. to raise awareness and to ‘deliver the signatures’ to Washington at the end of the month.
