ECUMENICAL EDUCATION AND TRAINING CENTER
The Ecumenical Training Centre reports their hosting of the KETI program during the World Council of Churches 10th General Assembly in Busan. KETI (Korean Ecumenical Theological Institute) was a Korean parallel program to GETI, the Global Ecumenical Theological Institute, held at each Assembly for theological students from around the world. There were 158 students and 25 faculty members from 15 Korean universities represented, and represented. It was, as can you expected, a wonderful time for those who took part.
During Feb. those who participated will gather together to reflect on what they had learned, done, seen and heard at Busan. Later in the spring, there will be a series of lectures presented by the Ecumenical Training Centre on the topic of “Post-WCC, and How to Work as an Ecumenical Church”.
The Ecumenical Training Centre also looks forward to its 10th Training Trip, taking place Feb. 3 to 8, when 11 students, 1 journalist and 2 facilitators travel to Brazil and Argentina to study in particular Latin American Liberation Theology and the New Charismatic Movement. . They will spend the first week in Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and the second week in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
This will be the 10th time that the ecumenical theological students program have participated in an exposure trip to another country to explore aspects of ecumenical life.
