HUMANITARIAN AID TO NORTH KOREA
NCCK was able to send 100 tons of flour to North Korea on Dec. 31, once again through the physical assistance and support of Amity Foundation. Amity was allowed to carry out humanitarian aid by getting approval from the Chinese government in accordance with their government’s quota of food aid. The shipment of flour was worth $60,000 US, and NCCK thanks those who have donated to help those who are suffering through the cold winter weather.
Another shipment is being planned to take place in Feb., 2014.
A letter of invitation was received from Korea Christian Federation, inviting Christian representatives from South Korea to visit the North in the spring. The Reconciliation and Reunification Committee are making arrangements with the government to carry this trip out. |
