WORSHIP TO CELEBRATE THE NEW YEAR

As is the custom, on the first working day of the New Year, the NCCK hosted a New Year’s
worship service, led by the leaders of all the member churches.
The scripture lesson came from Joshua 3:1-6, and Rev. Son Dal Ik’s sermon was an important
message entitled, ‘Tomorrow, Let Us Hope Again’.
Special prayers were offered – that the country and its people would be blessed during the
coming year, for the renewal of the public image of the Korean Church community, and for
special blessing on the Busan hosting of the WCC 10th General Assembly.
Eucharist was celebrated by NCC President, Rt. Rev. Kim Keun Sang, and past president,
Rev. Lee Young Hoon. Words of welcome were given to the congregation by the General
Secretary, and then a reception was held, with warm conversation among the gathered
members, helped by a delicious array of food.
