The Rev. Hiroko Ueda

General Secretary NCC-Japan

Tokyo, JAPAN

     Dear Sister in Christ,

Let me first of all convey to you my warm greetings from Korea. I was delighted to have a chance to meet you at the CCA General Committee meeting recently. But since my election as the General Secretary of NCCK, I have not had a good opportunity to write to greet you. So it is with deep regret that I am writing to you for the first time during perhaps the greatest crisis facing your country since the end of World War II.

I feel great sadness and heaviness in my heart that I send you this message. I am horrified by the magnitude of the disaster that has visited your country since last Friday. I want you to know that I am upholding you and your people in my prayers and I know that our loving God will not abandon you and the people of Japan. I am confident that our loving God will embrace you and comfort you through the many humanitarian assistance provided by your government and by humanitarian agencies from around the world. Please do not hesitate to let me know if there is anything that I or the NCCK can do during these difficult days.

I look forward to good cooperation between our two organizations.

     Yours in Christ

Rev. Kim Young-Ju

General Secretary
