Message of Comfort and Condolence to NCC-Japan
“Comfort ye, comfort ye, my people,” Says your God. (Isaiah 40:1)
We have been very shocked with heartbreak by the news that the 8.9-magnitute quake struck off North Eastern Japan, causing immense loss of life and massive destruction of property.
We express our deep condolences to the people in Japan during these sad and tragic days of death and loss of livelihood. We pray that God’s consolation and guidance be with the victims and their families suffering in great pain and fear.
We know from many past experiences of earthquake in Japan that the Japanese people have always overcome the challenges of dangerous threat with calmness, dignity and wisdom. We are confident that this time too, thanks to the grace of God, the Japanese people will surmount this horrendous disaster.
All Christians in Korea extend their deep solidarity to the people of Japan and we hope that the Japanese people will view this calamity as an opportunity to grow stronger into the future.
During this season of Lent we celebrate God’s grace of bearing all the sufferings of this world. As we share your pain we pray for the miracle of the risen Christ to bring new life to all in Japan.
